About Chicago-North Chapter #14 |
The
Chicago-North Chapter of Romance Writers of America was founded in 1986 as
Chapter #14. The chapter considers itself to be primarily a support and
manuscript critiquing group.
Mission Statement
We, the
members of Chicago-North Chapter of RWA, come together to support published and
unpublished writers in an atmosphere of integrity, harmony and peace. We
encourage our fellow writers with unconditional support, incisive critiques and
a professional network. Our purpose is to nurture each other as we strive for
excellence and achievement of our publication goals.
Meeting Dates and Locations
We meet on
the second and last Monday of each month. We meet at the Des Plaines Public
Library on the second Monday of the month. This is our program night every
month. For directions to the library, click
here. The charge for attending meetings is $1/person. The last Monday of the month, we meet at the Arlington Heights
Historical Society. For directions to the Historical Society, click
here.
The charge for attending meetings is $2/person. Meetings run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., with occasional special pre-meeting
sessions scheduled at 6 p.m.. NOTE: Meeting dates are subject to change due to
holidays.

Dues and Membership
Chapter dues are $25.00 annually and due by April 1
of each year. Membership includes attendance at chapter meetings, attendance at
chapter-sponsored workshops and events, our monthly newsletter, and critiquing
services at meetings.
We are an incorporated chapter of RWA so all members of Chicago-North must belong to the national organization. For information on RWA National, click here: www.rwanational.com
